Patch Park hardly needs any further introduction here. Nevertheless… Exploring new horizons in electronic music, Patch Park once again emerges as a fresh and intriguing act from The Netherlands.
With an impressive legacy spanning some of dance music’s most respected imprints, Global Underground, Renaissance, Yoshitoshi, Elevate, Deep, Wolfskuil, Inflyte, and Little Mountain Recordings, Patch Park has long been synonymous with deep, driving, and forward-thinking sound design. Beyond studio achievements, Patch Park has already left an indelible mark on the international club scene, performing at iconic events and sharing stages with some of the world’s finest DJs.
After more than a decade of silence, Patch Park triumphantly reemerged on the global stage. Now a Dutch electronic duo consisting of Perry van de Vrede and Dennis Roelofs, they’ve reignited their creative spark with a series of powerful releases on Meanwhile, Vapour, and District Records, the latter of which Perry helped to co-found.
Their renewed sound resonates deeply across underground dance floors, earning renewed attention and support from today’s leading names in the progressive house scene.
Spells is a perfect showcase of Patch Park’s undeniable talent, a mesmerising journey of dark grooves, tension, and melodic depth that effortlessly bridges the duo’s storied past with their fresh and forward-looking future.
On remix duty, Mr. Jamie Stevens
For us at HQ it’s an absolute honour to welcome him back for his second release on D:STR:CT.
For those not yet in the know, Jamie Stevens might just be one of the nicest, and most gifted figures in electronic music. Based in Melbourne, the humble melody craftsman rarely boasts, but his work speaks volumes. A founding member of the iconic electronic band Infusion, Stevens helped shape a sound that blurred genres and broke boundaries, earning releases on Sony in the mid-’90s and taking their music to legendary stages including Fabric, Womb, and Glastonbury.
Since then, Jamie has carved out an exceptional solo career defined by authenticity, patience, and musical integrity. “I’m getting better at moving forwards alone,” he once shared, a philosophy that underpins his approach to music: no shortcuts, no compromises, only quality. In an era of instant gratification, Stevens stands apart, continually creating work that is timeless, personal, and profoundly moving.
All of this talent, vision, and expertise comes together beautifully on his take on Spells. Jamie’s reimagining lifts the original into new dimensions, a masterful, emotive journey that reflects everything we love about his sound and spirit.
