D:STR:CT Records is thrilled to announce the return of one of our favourite artists, Zuccasam (aka Sam Harris), with his brand new Open Arms EP, catalogue number District 020. After making a serious impression with his debut Rattle Shake EP and the subsequent Rattle Shake/Moonchat Remix EP, Sam is back, and this time he means business.
If you’ve been paying attention over the last couple of years, you’ll already know that Sam has been on an absolute tear. Release after release, label after label – Plastic Fantastic, Keep Thinking, Re-Sound, Late Night Music, Music To Die For, Nightcolours – the man has been quietly, consistently delivering the goods. No filler, no fluff, just straight-up quality. Every drop stronger than the last.
Now he’s home again at D:STR:CT, and he’s brought a proper weapon with him. Open Arms has already been generating serious buzz in the right circles — fellow producers and DJs have been talking, and trust us, the early word is good. Really good. We might be biased (we absolutely are), but it genuinely feels like Sam is on the cusp of something big, the kind of trajectory that ends with a whole lot of new fans around the globe wondering how they ever missed him.
The EP comes in two devastating forms: the Vocal Mix, which is as euphoric and emotive as the name suggests, and a Twisted Dub version that takes things somewhere altogether darker and more hypnotic. Together, they make for a release that works the floor from multiple angles — one for the peak hour, one for the moment just before it. Both absolutely essential.
Don’t sleep on this one.
